Today Is Bill of Rights Day

Today is Bill of Rights Day. So it’s an appropriate time to consider the state of our constitutional safeguards.

Let’s consider each amendment in turn.

The First Amendment says that “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech.” Government officials, however, have insisted that they can gag recipients of “national security letters” and censor broadcast ads in the name of campaign finance reform and arrest people for simply distributing pamphlets on a sidewalk.

Liberty Rights vs. Welfare Rights

A right is a principle that specifies something which an individual should be free to have or do. A right is an entitlement, something you possess free and clear, something you can exercise without asking anyone's permission.

Our country was founded on the principle that individuals possess the "inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Along with the right to property, which the Founding Fathers also regarded as a fundamental right.

The National Board of the Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC) has voted to endorse Mark Bircher in his race for the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 13th Congressional District following the recommendation made by the RLC of Florida.

National Board Endorses Dan Bongino

Melbourne, Florida: The National Board of the Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC) today endorsed Dan Bongino in his race for the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 19th Congressional District.

Dan Bongino is a former Secret Service Agent with the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations. Mr. Bongino resigned from the Secret Service in protest over President Obama’s disregard for the Constitution.
