Carmen is one of many physicians who were brought into politics by President Trump, because of his America First message and because of Covid.
After graduating from Boston University Medical School and completing an Internal Medicine residency Dr. Martinez practiced medicine in the Jacksonville area for 30 years, raising a family and participating in sports like tennis, cycling and yoga.
Dr. Martinez joined the Republican Executive Committee of Duval County in 2018. She became more active in local and state politics after the Covid issue hit the Duval County School Board and the battle that ensued there over the masking of children. Joining the RLC and participating in the RLC Lobby Days events has led to further involvement in politics, and a run for Republican State Committeewoman for Duval County. She is the Chair for the Duval RLC Election Integrity Committee and is on the Jacksonville City Council Election Advisory Panel.
