Evan Power joins RLC 9.18.25
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida (RLCFL) is pleased to announce its newest member is Evan Power, Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF). Power joined the Republican Liberty Caucus as a new member during a meeting held with the incoming RLCFL Chairman and Vice Chairman on September 18 in Tallahassee.
The RPOF has recognized RLCFL as a properly-established, independent Republican organization for several years. Joining the RLCFL signals the GOP’s recognition that the distinct missions of the two independent Republican organizations are compatible, and that Florida Republicans are encouraged to join either or both political groups.
The paramount mission of the Republican Party is to get Republicans elected to office in Florida. Consistent with that core objective is the mission of the Republican Liberty Caucus, to promote constitutionally-focused legislative goals by proposing or opposing legislation according to its impact on individual rights, limited government and free markets, and by monitoring votes cast by state legislators on select bills, and to issue a constitutional liberty-based annual “scorecord” at the end of each annual session. Having compatible objectives, several RLCFL members also hold key positions with the state Party.
Chairman Power highlighted the significance of becoming a member of RLCFL: “I am thrilled to take another step forward in further strengthening the Republican Party of Florida …,” Power said. “Today, I joined the RLCFL and believe this… will set the stage for us to keep Florida great and… to make America great again!”
RLCFL members are encouraged to become precinct committeemen and committeewomen and aid the goals to further the adopted platform of the Republican Party of Florida. Conversely, RPOF members are encouraged to join RLCFL to promote constitutional conservative principles, free markets, individual liberty and legislative responsibility through grassroots efforts and policy initiatives. Registered Republican voters expect GOP elected officials to live by these universally- acknowledged, foundational principles of the party.
A report previously issued September 18 is corrected to clarify that no oral or written agreement was entered into between the two organizations. Had there been an agreement or partnership proposed, that would need to be cleared with the RLCFL Board before announcement and before being finalized. The incoming Chairman resigned last Sunday after easily surviving recall. Vice chairman Karyn Morton currently serves as the RLCFL Chair until the next meeting of the Board, when the bylaws require an election of a new chair.
